I am going through a phase that I MUST change something, LOL The ring is ready and forever so I need a new 'project'. I have been wearing my hair super dark for the past 3+ years and am itching to lighten up a bit PLEASE see whole thread for more 'au naturale' pics lol Sooo, check out the pic and please let me know what you think. And the actress or whatever she is, lol, is sorta the color inspiration I am going for: P.S.: Current hair is about 5-6" longer than the pic on right I love polls, lol Thanks

You sound like me! I've had an obsession with going blonde the last couple of weeks, but my hair is naturally very, very dark brown, so I've never even been able to lift the color enough to go blonde. I found that looking at pretty brunette hairstyles helped me get over it lol!

This is totally me... me hair is naturally dark brown black... so for a change the last time I had it colored I went jet black instead of having my gray roots done to my natural color... ... the most lift I can really get out of my hair is orange...

I am all for having fun with hair color, but just be aware that's a big lift and will require alot of salon upkeep to touch it up often. Are you considering any other color options? I, too, have naturally dark hair and I used to be blond, so believe me, I totally hear you on this. I have my hair dyed a burgundy/dk brown, sort of black cherryish color and I love it so much. I will admit that it fades, but I am able to do my own upkeep at home because I buy it from Sally Beauty Supply and do it myself, easily and cheaply, whenever it needs it. At home upkeep on the blond was definitely not an option when I was blond and I got really tired of having to get it touched up all the time. I understand the whole "I need a project" thing too, lol!! Now that my ring is done, I'm looking for my next thing, too!!

Thanks guys, ok, to answer a few questions: my hair is about 3-4" longer than the pic with dark hair, a few strands shorter in the front. I know it is possible to lift my color because I have done it before, for fun once I went BLOND! The phase did not last but was not that hard. The color in the pic with DARK hair my hair is actually a tad darker than normally is, that was the very next day I had colored Well, my hairstylist. Which happen to be a close friend and she knows I am PICKY, so she does flawless work and also I get about half price, she also happens to own the salon Cutting or changing the style is not an option (not now), I have been letting it grow. I have TONS of hair and THICK, so the longer the better, it weighs more and looks nicer. I have natural wavy hair. As far as keeping up the maintenance, I have been feeling the very dark style a tad harder than the lighter because I have a HUGE patch of GRAY (no, WHITE!!!) hair lol

I voted Keep It The Way It Is.... I think your gorgeous Dark... +1 You look exotic and exciting with darker hair! Definitely keep it, the lighter color washes you out some while the dark makes your complexion glow. Maybe try a different style instead of coloring? It looks so healthy the color that it is, don't change!
