I am plotting a ring to celebrate a big milestone for me this winter. I want to do lab rubies and the ring will be from moissaniteco.

I can either get Chatham or Lannyte rubies and they told me that supposedly Lannyte uses the same rough as Chatham.

What I am concerned about is the color. I much prefer red-red to the pinky red color I see quite a bit in stores. I have been searching like mad over a past few days but havent seen much.

Does anyone have pictures of either Chatham or Lannyte (moissaniteco.com's source) rubies I could see? Thanks!!

MoCo could also get BTD rubies, and I have one of those. It is red red, no pink.

Unfortunately, BTD doesn't have any of the sizes I need right now and I suspect with the Avarra rubies on the way, they won't be restocking anytime soon.

I have only *seen* a Chatham ruby once in person but it is not pink. That stone was a beautiful red. I don't know about Lannyte, but am a confessed fan of Chatham. I own 2 of their sapphires and helped a friend get a beautiful emerald through them several years ago. Recently on here someone recommended checking OurCustomWeddingRings.com for stone color; they carry Chatham stones. You can get a good look at the rubies there.

they open up custom ordering every once in a while though...so theyll cut the size and shape you want, cant recall the next time...im thinking sept for some reason??

I think the custom cut window was delayed indefinitely. But maybe MoCo can order one of each and take a pic of the stones and let you see them first??
