I have worked with him and and I am in Canada. I can't remember what shipping co he uses, but he declares for the full value...and he includes the value of the key stone, (even if it comes from an outside source) so that does add up, but then at least it is insured for the full value.

I have. It was very easy to work with him and no problem with shipping, my ring arrived quite quickly (I'm located in Europe). Custom platinum ring was way cheaper than what I would need to pay here and my local jeweler told me it was well made. For me he declared only the setting value (stone from moissaniteco) as agreed.


BUT. I am so sad it seems he doesnt want to work with me anymore I e-mailed him in June asking for a custom wedding band. He didn't answer. I thought ok, he is travelling and very busy with already existing projects. I decided to wait after the wedding, week ago I contacted him again. I told him that I was happy customer coming back and maybe he lost my previous mail. No answer i guess I dont want to bother him again and wont recommend him to my friend who's getting married next year, which I planned to do, since I cannot guarantee he will even answer. Too bad his customer service has gone to this.

What did you ahve on the message area in the email?
I worked with him about 10 months ago. he just completed another ring for me a couple of weeks ago.
In the memo area I put "Repeat Customer for New Ring" or something to that effect.
I don't think it is because he doesn't want to work with you. Judging by the activity discussed on this forum regarding current projects, he is very very busy.

In the topic it says "Curved wedding band for my halo ring" so it doesnt actually say there yet that I'm returning customer but I dont think it is a good reason to not read the message. I told him who I am (changed last name), when did we worked with the previous ring and specs of it and of course what I would like him to make me this time.
Call me demanding but I just dont feel like I should be the one chasing the person who I want to give my money, I rather find someone else who answers to my e-mails It's not like I havent give him time to answer.

This doesn't seem like DK behavior to me at all. I'm not saying you are inaccurate in your post, meemah, by any means, just that is seems odd to me.

I've worked with David now on many projects and I've never not received a response from him. Yes, during his very busy times I've had a couple of days delay time. When he was on vacation there was a bit of a delay but nothing exceeding 3 business days.

This is a silly question but are you emailing him at the correct email address?

I cannot imagine that he would not want to work with you. I'm figuring there must be some sort of communication error.

I've been emailing him this past month and his response times have been good, but I did email him and not get a response a couple of times. I blame the infamous spam folder or the fact he has been busy.

Ill add that I have requested quotes from him and had lots of communication even a few months ago but my last 3 emails have been unanswered too. dont take it personally its probably his spam, as i cant imagine him ignoring anyone...

I would like to think that too, but I don't know.. I would call him but due to time difference it's not convenient for me. The first time I answered back to existing e-mail conversation so the address was correct and since he had always answered me back within a day it can't be that this e-mail suddenly went to trash. I use gmail and dont think any program would think that is spam mail. The second time I copied the address from some of the previous conversations so it is correct..

The first time I emailed him it was about five days before I heard anything.
I just emailed a second time, no biggie.

You're highly recommended and well priced? I'll try twice. I'm not so untouchable that I don't make an effort.
Now, I get emails back same day from him.
