Hi all. I keep hearing about baking sims to get them warmer but I don't know if I have seen anywhere how to actually do it.

What do you put it on/in to bake in the oven? (ie. cookie sheet?)
At what temp?
For how long?
Does it matter if it is set or loose?
Cool down process?
Anything else important to the process that one would need to know?

Help! LOL crazy

I have been really wanting to try this but I just don't have any idea how to do it with out totally messing up! I really appreciate if anyone could help explain the process to me! confused smile

I think what Roogirl said in that post was dead on. I like doing 45 minute increments. I once experimented with baking stones longer (about 2 hours) with a cheap eternity band (6mm wide with large stones) and it came out looking "scorched" in the end. The stones had a brownish tinge in the center. I'm not sure if this was a one-off but I've erred on the side of caution since then.

Thank you Starla, I was thinkng about trying it longer but I will err on the side of caution and do a 45 minute run first. I am trying it out on two QVC bands I like but are just way to icy white right now for my taste.

Hey girls... if you follow my directions step per step doxiemom you should have no problems... just remember start off with placing it in a cold oven with the stone/piece clean.... then turning it on and make sure that the glass dish has cooled totally before taking it out... wink

If I were to get an H color H&A round: does anyone think it would need to be baked to pass as a diamond? Do H's look too white?

I personally start at a lower temp. and gradually get up to 400 degrees. I like to check every half an hour and increase the temp. starting at 275 and getting up to 400 each time I check. I think every cz brand and sometimes cut can have a different tolerance for temperatures.
