I currently started a medical weightloss program and am looking at losing 100 lbs.
At the same time I am looking at designing a ring setting with my hubby for my anniversary ring. Im currently a size 8.5-9 (my fingers swell alot) do you ladies think my ring size will change drastically? Should I wait it out to start the setting or buy a ring?

I have seen numerous rings for sale on the Bistro because of weight change. For some rings sizing isn't practical or the change would be too great for the side stones to stay secure. I would consider waiting unless you are positive that resizing won't affect the overall ring. ~Red

I would wait. Not only will you have the huge reward of having lost the weight, but you will also have the luxury of your dream ring on your finger in the right size! smile

I developed an autoimmune disease a decade ago and went from a size 4 to a size 6. I gained a lot of weight before being diagnosed. I'd say 80 pounds made me go from 4 (and that was pre-kids, so there's more than one factor here) to 6. I'm right now wearing my rings at 5.5. I'm another that will swell from 4.75 to 6 over the course of a day, a few times over. 5.5 means I can always wear my rings, even if they're a bit tight.

I don't know if that helps, but there it is! I would wait until you're at your target size, but I would also size on the big side to prepare for swelling and stacking!

Can't wait to see your ideas!

Jeje yes im thinking of an 8mm OEC amora gem solitaire but ill have to get an asha in the mean time until it is available for sale here in the us. smile but this is just the beginning of my bling wish list.

But I just recently got married and my hubby has a lil bit of debt with his student loans so im starting out slow and simple. Dont wanna freak him out with my addiction and I get bling crazy very quickly so I have to take it easy on this forum lol. I even made my self stop looking for like a month lol I get too anxious!!!!!
