Seven very cold and windy baby jogging miles today!!! Bouncing Baby Boy was snug as a bug in his snow suit and wind cover. Of course, the clear plastic wind cover turned the baby jogger into a sail as gusts up to 20 miles per hour came off the lake! Pretty comical but we managed to make it around without taking flight.

Thirty boys push-ups, sit-ups, and callanetics finished me off for today!

Anyone else?

30/20/10 step, resistance training, stretch again. kept my heart rate at about 174 during the step. the muscles are shaping up, but the reading on the scale is not changing, and i still feel like a tub.

I don't know how long you've been working out, but if you hang in there and just keep working out, they will drop off, and you'll find that it's easier to keep the pounds off because your metabolism is in high gear. I've found this to be very true, that the pounds don't seem to be dropping even when you're working out very steadily because you're building muscle tissue, which weighs much more than fat. So, you're still changing your body composition, even if the scales are deceiving.

Very good that you're stretching-many folks get injured because they don't stretch!

and to answer you from the other thread: before Nov (thanksgiving month ) I was running/power walking about 4 miles 3 times a week, and swimming 20 laps in a 25 meter pool 2 times a week, with weights once a week. then it trailed off as I got into the holidays, and although my weight on the scale didn't change much then, I *know* it's cos I lost muscle and gained fat.

As a result, now that I've started working out regularly again (trying for about 1/2 hour of cardio every day), I've gone up 5 pounds, probably from the muscle gain...

sigh. see??? don't stop working out or you'll regret it!!

This happens to me as well, and it's frustrating because you want to see results! Since you were previously working out though, it will be easier for your muscles to rebuild and you'll get into shape faster. Have you tried interval training? Twice a week, do 2 minute run/3 minute walk intervals for thirty minutes, or until you just can't do any more. It's very important to do the walking part-forcing your body to adjust to the different intensities jump starts your metabolism and really makes a difference. But don't do this more than twice a week. When I do this, the pounds just drop off like you wouldn't believe.

This is why I started the workout thread-So we can motivate each other-Virtual training partners!!! Accountability is a wonderful incentive to get up and get going!

Guilty me, I made a streusel cake this afternoon! It was gone before bedtime! DH did most of the damage, but I claim my fair share of the blame.

Swim, what's your race pace? I'm embarrassingly slow, but I do get the miles done!
