I have several beautiful rings, pendants, and bracelets that I wouldn't know where to begin with specs, appraisals etc. I would love to move forward with a few projects, but would love to trade them in for "capital". Does anyone know if Mario or Wink or other vendors take "trade" in pieces? I'm brainstorming here...not ready to take any plunges yet...Mrs. E's Christina ring is just too gorgeous and I've got "sparklies" on my brain right now!

I don't think Mario would take Diamonds/gemstones trade-in.
I asked him before and he told me that he deal primarily in moissanites.

I will if they are the type of thing that I sell, but most diamonds are not cut to the high standards that I demand so the value I will give you will be low compared to what you paid.

I sell my things in the MGR or on ebay. That is how I have funded sparklies in the past.

That's the down side to buying all these jewels we love. You won't be able to sell it for even close to what you paid. If you sell it yourself, you might be able to get a little more than if you give it to a vendor as trade. They'll give you much, much less, because they have to turn around and sell it for a good deal but still make money too.

Yes...I understand exactly what you are all saying...not much different than trading in a barely used car and gasping at what the dealer is willing to give you for it..when right on the lot is a car with MORE mileage and wear and tear and the price is double! Thanks for your input!

Yeah, unfortunately, the best possible deal is to go through thge hassle of selling them yourself, with cars as well as jewelry!
