I'm getting sort of addicted to this. Tonight we were at the mall and I stepped into a Helzburg Diamonds just perusing the semi mounts. I had my Asha OEC with me. The general manager wanted to take a look at it, and was super excited because she said she was a gemologist and "knows about these things." Again, I never said it was a diamond and dropped it on the felt.
Well, she GASPED when she saw it, clutched my hands, did a jig and begged to look at it under the gem microscope. I gulped, gave her a wan smile and held my breath. She had it under 40X magnification, and turned it over and over all the while exclaiming to me, my husband and to her fellow employees to COME LOOK at this flawless OEC diamond! She even got one of their VS diamonds for me to compare it to to show me how superior my "diamond" was!
She said it was nearly flawless, a G or H color and totally mind-blowing. I thought she was going to cry! The woman was in ecstasy over it and talked to me for 35 minutes about how I needed a full appraisal, a plotting, and huge amounts of insurance because my stone was worth a fortune! She kept saying "trust me, I'm a gemologist and I KNOW these things, I can tell the difference in diamond quality!" LOL!
