Hey guys---I am wondering if anyone found anything about Eva Cortes? FLEUR100 ...I saw the post on her princess for 799...she has the asscher/plat/ruby ring on the bistro right now. I am wondering if anyone bought from her...was buying from her or can vouch for her? Those post have made me weary to pay on this ring...I was thinking to pay on this and a ring from michelle and now I am not so sure about fleur100....it just seems a ring with a 1ct asscher in vs f color would go for more?
Anyone help me please

I'd stay away! She is the one that only wants a money order or check too, right? No PP

Yes that is the one...I just was wondering if anyone had dealt with her yet? I emailed her not even thinking to look here first and she said okay to payments...but then I was thinking..hey...I know that paypal fees are horrible and noone likes to have them taken out of the money they are already losing but this is a major amount of money and she has no references and won't take paypal...so I going to wait to see what comes up here on the bistro. I didn't find any negative or positive..only doubting what she is selling is the real deal for the price..

Her princess ad seemed like a scam. The pictures weren't even of the same stone if I'm remembering correctly.

In light of all of what I have seen ..and I know we know our pics and stones and prices...I mean we all are jewelry experts almost...I have decided to email and just explain I am too worried about scams and if she would like to provide some references/guarantee with paypal I will think about the ring
THANKS EVERYONE

I don't know much but I think that seems too good to really be true.

I wouldn't buy w/o paypal although I truly hate paypal fees; they have grown so much in the last 2 years or so.

I use my mom's PP account.
It doesn't save on fees but at least we have lots of references that way.

The Money order thing seems really suspicious to me.
Kind of like the Living Expenses thing in another thread- a bad way to avoid PP fees and scam unsuspecting buyers.

Yes I agree...it is just that most people take paypal right? anyhow..noone has posted a reference for her...so I will surely wait. Why do people scam others anyway? I mean I just got scammed on ebay when I thought I was buying 1ct studs for my mom..turns out the emerald ring I bought on the bistro could not be sized to a 9...so I traded with Gideon and that was awesome..only problem is now I need a stone!..anyway...the lady had good feedback but what I should have done was listen to my instinct on the fact she had sold no jewelry...anyway...listing said 1ct.. .5 in each ear...SI and g color... 380.00 good deal right? from someone who was just trying to get rid of things ...like me at times..I let things go at insane prices just to raise funds
what I got was .25 in each ear...I clarity and maybe the color was right on..g or h...so that was the only good part...seller refused to refund saying since she was told that was what they were..that is what they were as she had listed..so that is in the making with paypal...
anyhow...I think it is okay to be a bit off in description since most people are not jewelers and just selling their things but to be waaaay off? and I think she knew that she was way off...just looking at them it was clear ..not one carat..
anyway had to vent..

From a selling standpoint, I can understand why someone would not want to take paypal. THEY could totally get scammed and be out the item and the money-and it happens all the time when these low-life scammers work the PP system

BUT then check/money order leaves no recourse for the buyer, so its not good to buy from someone you cant trust using that method.

If you really want the ring, I would suggest looking into those escrow services. They let the seller know that funds are there, but dont release it until buyer confirms item is what was claimed. I dont know much about them, but I have heard it used on ebay for jewelry purchases before.

That would be the only way to protect yourself and hopefully if the seller is really being truthful, she shouldnt mind!

I bought a ring on ebay from someone that didn't sell jewelry - was selling for a friend....well...the stone was not moissanite as stated in both listing and accompanying appraisal. I did get my money back from paypal however. She refused to refund without taking out fees for listing, paypal and re-appraisal??? It isn't my fault it wasn't what she listed it as...the odd thing, she had a 7 day return policy if not as described...if returned for any other reason she would take fees out. This wasn't as described - plus, if she canceled transaction after receiving returned item - she gets her fees back. I had to get an appraisal - and submit that to Ebay/paypal...all that after I had it tested more then 4 times...I believe 5 also, I then took it to an authorized mossy dealer - that also tested it side by side with a moissanite stone. fake, fake, fake. I don't believe the seller nor possibly her friend knew...but still...not my fault. I had to go through the paypal claim process to get my money back...which cost me 50.00 for the appraisal...plus return express shipping...If I were that seller I would feel badly - but not so much as a note of apology from her camp. Point is - you can file a claim for those earrings. Item not as described! but you will need a document stating the measurements etc. of the stone. Yes, half the carat weight is significantly not as described.
