I have recently been REALLY interested in the flanders cut. I was wondering if anyone who owned a flanders could give me some info about how it performs?

I read somewhere they sparkle like crazy, and I love all the pictures I've seen.. the cut is amazing, it helps that I am extremely partial to square-ish shapes hehe~

I would be so greateful if anyone who has a flanders asha or CZ could give me their reviews and personal experience!! Thank you so much! ^_^

I don't have this pretty cut but here's a link with Wenchie's pics and probably her opinions (haven't read through the whole thing).

I hear it's a very sparkly stone!

I had a flanders solitaire many moons ago and personally didn't care for it. The sparkle factor was just ok, something about the faceting seemed odd to me. If you want a real fireball in a squarish shape I highly recommend the Jubilee! Unfortunately Ashas don't come in that cut but the Winfields are very nice \:\)

Thanks for your opinion Anozira! I saw videos of the jubilee at GOG and they look incredible.. so maybe I will look into that more as well!

Does anyone know if the Flanders is an actual cut of diamond or just a sim cut?

I have searched on websites for loose diamonds and all the other typicals, james allen, blue nile, etc, and it is not listed as an option on there...

It is a fancy cut diamond:

Flanders Brilliant Cut

The Flanders Brilliant Cut (aka Fire Brilliant) is a modified Radiant or Princess cut with truncated corners that form an octagon with brilliant faceting. The Flanders Brilliant has 33 crown facets and 28 pavilion facets for a total of 61 facets.

The Flanders Fire-Brilliant was developed by Flanders Cut International of Antwerp in 1983, and the cut was named after the Flanders region of Belgium (Antwerp) where the cut was first preformed in 1987. The cut is distributed by the National Diamond Syndicate (NDS) of Chicago.
