LOL, how did I miss this thread? I too am irritated by mispronunciations but I try not to point them out. You guys have hit some of the most egregious but not this one...
Are and OUR are actually different words. I do correct my kids when they say "Are they coming to 'are' house later?" It's odd because when they say the two words together they say it correctly... "What are our plans for Saturday?" Of course it would sound silly to say "What are 'are' plans..."
In this area it is common to say "I borrowed my book to Lisa." "Can you borrow me that pencil?"
Makes me want to pull my hair out.
And I'm hearing ax, axed instead of ask and asked all the time now. I hate that too...it's just sloppy talk.
Whew...that does feel good to get out. LOL
