I will be ordering A micro pave ring soon and I had in mind to get a 2 ct. Princess cut f/g Asha to crown it with. I have a 7.5 finger and thought this size would be good but I've done some reading in past posts and I think a good bulk of people think a bigger stone for a bigger finger and then I read curious phrase like " shrinkage has set in " which I don't understand... What would be the ideal size? In terms of people thinking it's fake no one in their right mind that knows him would eeeever think he'd buy one but it was my choice not his. I don't want gaudy ... I want something well balaned and just right on a 7.5 finger. Here is the setting I chose. Any advice would greatly help me. I've had a really hard time finding 1 ring and sticking with it, I've run to my future fiancé over the last 12 to 14 months prolly 50 times "I want this one for sure" just to turn around some weeks later to say " no, I was wrong I want this one" just to rinse ad repeat again and again. I guess what's made this process hard is not knowing what my style is when it comes to bling I mean I don't own any jewelry at all , nothing... Not one scrap at my age (30). I did fall head over heels inlove with this setting last week but this purchase is so huge in many ways I am over stressed about getting it just right where the asha is concerned.

I have several sizes listed for Asha OECs:

http://betterthandiamond.com/discussion/ubbthreads.php/topics/739067/1

I'm not sure how helpful this will be considering all the sizes I purchased were from 6.5 -8mm.

But based on a 7.5 ring size, I'd say a 3ct, won't look too big at all.

I'm a size 5.5 and the 8mm stone was the perfect size for someone worried about "shrinkage" on a 5.5. I personally wouldn't go over an 8mm for 5.5, but I'm a weirdo who likes small.

But for a size 7.5, I'd say go for the 3ct. I think it may be just right for you.

Wow Lorrissey ...thank you for your wonderful input. Having never owned any bling I have no idea well no real idea how big anything looks irl . VERY glad you answered as now I wonder how badly I would have blundered with a 2 ct Asha for a 7.5 finger. The two worst things that could have happened is getting a gem too small there by makig my fingers look LARGER or getting a gem too big it looks dumb. I truly appreciate the input I was getting a little worried people were checking out my post and not answering leaving me high and dry to take a wild guess what size is best smile

Hey Melrose!

I bought the Timeless 3row micropave ring from BTD. I get it this Wednesday! I am a size 8 finger and purchased the 3 carat princess cut. With this setting the stone will sit higher up. Its not a low profile ring. Keep that in mind also. I purchase a stone size based on if I can afford it as a diamond.

I get my ring in two days. Once I get it I will take pictues of it on my finger and post pictures. A lot ofppl have been wondering if 3 carats is to big for a size 8 finger. It is not! I was thinking of going with a 4 carat but decided to get it with a 3. The higher the setting the more it will stand out. I see a lot of low profile rings with big stones and they don't look as big.

Oh thank you so much Jam ! We def be glued to the forums until you post your pics that would be oh so helpful to get a visual. I can't wait to see your ring I bet it will be just stunning and beautiful!
Originally I was looking at getting the Tiffany repro but I want a ring that sits high and proud...I'm funny that way. As for looking real I'm not sure what a 3 carat diamond costs in real life but we can afford a real diamond of up to 22,000 cash (he won't pay something like that off slowly he likes to buy outright)so I guess if 3 carats has that kinda price tag it will be real on me. Can't WAIT to see your pics!!! Grats on the purchase too

You can always buy some cheap cz from ebay or chrisUK in the sizes you are considering..just to see how they really look on your hand before you spend $$$ on a stone you may not love. And get the ring gem holder things so you can see it in "ring" form

Youre welcome! Doing what i can to support the habit wink

Dont know where you are but i dont think the shipping takes overly long from chrisUK..i know some ladies on here who are on the east coast (US) received their order in about a week..but you cant rush perfection (lol!) and if thats what it takes to get the perfect size stone then thats what it takes smile

Just remember when you buy a cheap cz it won't look as great at the ASHA. The Asha is stunning! I'm a true asha girl.

I love higher settings myself. Thats why I chose the timless 3 row setting.

I hope I can help make up your mind.My husband is the same way. He only pays cash for things. He doesn't believe in CC.
