the asscher is my all time favorite cut I think. I've only ever had an asha so it may be a cut issue but I don't think so. I've had RB diamonds (my ering) asha (tried replacing my ering) and moissy. Hands down the moissy was more diamond like to me and didn't require the cleaning that the asha RB did. I sent that thing back so fast!
So while there may be an aspect that's the cut (I've never owned an assher moissy or diamond...just asha) there is definitely a difference in material, no question. At least for me. As was stated I could go a month without cleaning the moissy and it looked fantastic. If I go a day without cleaning the asha it looks dull and lifeless. And I'm not in a profession where I'm hard on my hands at all.
My Ashas still sparkle even though all I do is wipe them with a lens cleaning wipe . I don't really "bathe" them very often - maybe once a month. But mine are rounds, not asschers. As far as asscher diamonds, I've never owned any, so I'm just going by what I've read, like in the two links above. Quotes from asscher diamond owners:
"If they aren''t perfectly clean, they lose their charm and sparkle pretty darn quick. I clean mine every day and sometimes a few hours later it is already looking dull. Oils, dust etc seem to be hard to hide."
"Ditto on the clean"
"Yes, I agree, they need to be clean, ALWAYS, to look smashing. I clean mine every morning before putting it on. I hold it with cloth in order to put it on, a real pain in the rump."
"people considering asschers should know that it is like staring at a bathroom mirror....when it is clean it is lovely, but when it gets smudgy and dirty it will drive you bonkers."
"What I don''t love:
1. The cleaning. A dirty asscher just ain''t as pretty as a clean one."
"Cons-Needs to be cleaned everyday, but I don''t mind... w/ my Jewel Jet it''s super fun!"
"Cons-4. Not a lot of white light, and when it''s dirty, it''s just kind of dull."
