jcent -- You have to love it because you know that if you don't, I'll come kick your butt!

Olive -- What an eye you have for detail. Yes, the doors do both... they slide along the track as a set of two, to create a garage-sized opening to drive a car through.... or you can open just one side independently on the hinge, like a regular door if you just want to walk through. Those early 1900s people were geniuses with their dual purpose designs.
Now that these are in the house, they are decorative only. Technically we can still run them along the track to the other wall, but there's never been a reason to. When we first put them up over a decade ago, that room was our spare bedroom and they were a headboard. They're the same five feet wide as a queen sized bed. About five years ago that room evolved into my office. Someday when we move to a different house, they're coming with us. I know they technically belong to this house, but I love them too much to give them up and have declared them MINE.
