Well i heard back from the seller, he offered me a part refund as a goodwill guesture which i am happy with. I will more than likely change the stone to moissanite at some point. It could be lab created, i guess ill never know for sure, but the more i look at it its way too sparkley/clear for a white sapphire and in some lights its very fakey looking, i love my smaller mossy so getting a bigger one would be a nice upgrade wink

well, a white sapphire would be fake looking if you were going for a diamond look though :0)

I think it's a sapphire. It would sparkle like a CZ **BUT** It would have white and blue flashes. White sapphires, clean ones are stunning in their own way, like moissanites or asha and all other gem stones.

jcent... Your sapphire is lovely but looks a tad cloudy? Wouldn't sparkle as it could do, if that's the case. Could be dirt, etc?

It isn't cloudy in real life, it is quite clear, but probably just covered in finger prints. But I diasgree that they sparkle like a cz. It throws light in large flashes, but they are not highly refractive stones.

JCents right, corundum is not a material that has a high RI. It won't sparkle like a CZ.

A moissy will be great to switch this out for!

It throws rainbow colours in certain lights and looks plastic/dead in others, In sunlight its blue, Its weird!! I might take it into a jewellers tommorrow and compare with some cz`s. I do a think mossy is the way to go though wink

but the white sapphire can look bluish in the sun... Really, if you can get an expert to look at it, it may just be better. wink

sure they do! just not the good ones, which we've all been spoiled by. but your average, run-of-the-mill CZ can be totally blah and dead-looking.

i got a ring today with one, as a matter of fact.
