I understand the difference between stones with different numbers of facets (OMC, OEC, RB/H&A, Solasfera, etc...), but with the same number of facets? Interesting.

Yes, to be honest, I think it's weird. I understand not liking the round shape, but unless you simply don't like sparkle, not liking the cut of an H&A round seems odd to me. Well, you asked, LOL! But I don't have to understand it to accept it.

There are shapes and cuts I don't care for as well as styles and designs that I think are hideous.

I've seen H&A in person, and I still hate it! LOL Something about the pattern is just very unpleasing to my eye. I far prefer a traditional RB to a H&A.

At first I really found H&A appealing. But the more I see them, something about the H&A cut disturbs me... I like sparkle first and foremost. And I feel like the darkness of the hearts/arrows distracts from the sparkle somehow. Or maybe it reminds me of a spider or something? haha! I have no idea! I really like the splintery/sparkley look of the nova/celestial cut moissy or even the moissy RB cut. And I also like the other extreme with the older cuts like OEC. The OEC reminds me of a flower in its symmetry. I guess I just want extreme glittery sparkle or a naturey pattern, not the spokes on a wheel H&A effect. Hey, to each their own!

To each his (or her) own.... I do like the H&A cuts, but I hate the OMCs and the OECs, and all the antique stuff.

Reminds me of this older thread, Why is H&A considered "better"?. People just have different senses of aesthetics. I know this is trite, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Personally, I love the optical symmetry of the H&A. However, through this forum and PS, I've come to appreciate the beauty of some of the antique cuts.
