Some people do not have an appreciation for warm stones or antique cuts. I have to admit, I used to be one of them. My mom is very picky and only wears D or E stones, lol. So I ignorantly thought that was all that was beautiful. I still prefer my modern cuts F, but now I have preferences based on personal knowledge and experience, not just on what I was told. Until I saw how amazing old cuts could look in the right setting, and how they could perform, I was seriously missing out. So IF they are rude, just chalk it up to traditional diamond brainwashing and a bit of ignorance regarding the vast world of diamonds. I don't think they will be rude though.

I never knew anything about antique stones or that warmer stones could be beautiful either. I always thought J was way too warm. LOL I think I might go there this weekend and check out the heart bracelet everyone wants me to look at and report back about.

I don't think SA's at Tiffany's at South Coast will be rude. They aren't the highest end jeweler at that mall.

Harry Winston, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Cartier are the higher end jewelers at South Coast and even they aren't rude.

I've never had bad service at South Coast. My husband and I always go dressed down (and by that I mean like very dressed down--flip flops, tights, and t-shirt and my husband in borderline pajamas) and the higher end stores offer water, a place to sit...one had even offered us Patron once (we are completely teetotal so we declined).

I think they will love your ring. No one has ever seen anything like it and they would probably be a bit jealous

South Coast Mall sounds like a great destination for our next Cali top. Friends used to go to a huge mall in Scottsdale and "devalue the property" for the afternoon. Actually, they were quite nice in Tiffany's; said they never tried to tell the millionaires from the wannabes...money flues is all directions and anyone is 6 numbers or a light stock pick or a old rich relative away from a fortune. Wouldn't want to alienate a potential customer.

I don't know why I didn't think of suggesting south coast as a meetup spot but I think that is where we should go! We can eat somewhere and then hit up all the expensives jewelry spots!

I would looovveee to see the store clerks go coo-coo over KJMM's ring. I have never gone into some of those shops because I felt like "I didn't belong" but with all of your lovelies by my side, I would feel confident and happily go drool over their goodies.

I actually haven't been in a while. Since my most recent baby was born I've been doing my shopping online. But back in the day I was ADDICTED to that place. I mean, I'm not rich and I wouldn't like go there and do shopping sprees...but I was definitely there a lot. Thank god I broke the habit though...paying retail is just so retarded now looking back on it. You would think that as someone in sales I would be able to recognize game, but I was a sucker for the customer service though, I admit. Now I love buying used, buying online, getting really good deals I also have more mouths to feed now too so I try not to get caught up in the consumerism cycle like that anymore (the mall being its mecca).

I wonder if they would go ga ga over my ring. Your stones face up white and it's very unique...no doubt they will drool over yours there. Mine is big, but it's an EGL M so probably more like an GIA O-P, it's definitely very warm. I haven't seen what a South Coast type SA's reaction would be to very warm diamonds yet so I don't know what they will think...and in the "real world" out there no one knows who LM or SK are. So maybe they won't be impressed at all. But it sure will be fun running around with you girls!!!

I used to be the same way. I used to live closer to there then but I used to just go have a day walking around and looking/shopping. It was fun but now with kids, its like torture. lol I also buy everything online now as well. Much much easier and less expensive for sure.

I think, just the fact that your stone is huge and on your little fingers, people will totally be awestruck! I wouldn't mind if they went a little ga ga over my ring too. haha I am sure many of our rings will get attention. And if they don't go ga ga over your ring, I know I surely will and I am sure all of the other sparkly sisters will too!

Now we have to figure out which restaurant to go to..opinions? I know I am totally high jacking my own thread. Maybe we should discuss this further in the Socal Meetup thread?
