See what you think,I have attached the pics from moisanite co. I'm going to be glued to the tracking screen for the next few days for sure 'cos I can't wait!!! (Hope the pics work)

Long story short, Unique settings had a problem with the original master mold. It is this style on their website (but in a 2mm width):

http://www.uniquesettings.com/products/show/14243?from_style=1

I was shocked when they told me because they have offered this style for years (and so have we). I asked our account rep how many Unique Settings had sold using this mold, and although she couldn't say for sure right off hand, she said it was literally hundreds as it is a very popular solitaire. But somehow nobody had ever noticed that it wasn't 100% symmetrical. The good news is that the mold is fixed so there shouldn't be any problems going forward.

Elvalia was very sweet throughout the process, and I would like to thank her for that.

Whoa.... just goes to show it takes a special eye to see certain things! Glad the mold is fixed, but wow, what a weird thing to have happened.

Edit: Reminds me of when I was doing Science Olympiad in high school and during the competition our robot could not get the ping pong balls into the box which was supposed to be 30 centimeters tall, but it worked in our practice box at school, and upon closer inspection of the box versus the manual I noticed that the box had a bottom where it should just have been four sides and two open ends, with one open end facing up. Turns out because of the end on the box, it was 31.2 centimeters tall and they had been using that as the "official box" for FIVE YEARS! We all got to re-do the event and my team ended up in fourth out of thirty or so, whereas before we had been at the bottom.

I think it's a bit unfair to automatically assume that they have poor quality control when not everyone posts or reviews the company here. Forums exist so that people, when they DO have a bad experience, can come and hopefully be heard. However, I am sure that they are hundreds of other happy customers out there that do not bother to post their experience on a forum.

All this to say, it would be good to consider that what you see in the forums is not a big enough pool to accurately judge a company. Mistakes do happen, but for every one mistake, there are probably many, many great results as well. Just wanted to give a different perspective.

To the original poster: The ring looks awesome smile Glad to hear the mold is fixed as well!
