I work in a bridal salon where there are diamonds (or are they?) everywhere. My last bride asked me if I had rose gold on my ring and I said, "well, yes". She noticed it because her set has two rose gold bands. I've seen big and I've seen tiny. And that's not only on the brides we service, that's fellow employees and guests of the bride. We, though, as consultants need to be concerned with funtionality. Anything that sticks out too much from the finger gets hung up in lace and tulle and can be a real problem. So, I guess, that is the perfect place for bling?

The Bridal Salon thing would be an amazing place to work to sparkle gaze for sure.... grin

... I did work for my Hubby... and running his office I only dealed with men coming in for meetings and such... when they would see my jewelry they would always tell my Hubby that they knew were his money was going... and to not let their wives see... It gave my hubby the big head... grin

... but if I had to go back into the work force now... which if things stay like they are I'm not going to have too... I would only wear my matching Titanium band that's like Hubbies at work... strange enough I've gotten just as many compliments on it as a lot of my other jewelry pieces.

Ages ago, when I went to a bridal salon to look at dresses, the first thing the consultant asked, after the date and style of wedding was to see my ring, and was oohing and aahing over it... She mentioned that she loved to see the rings, which I then confessed I do look at people's rings all the time.

I am a little self conscience at work. We are a very small office, there are only 4 of us. My boss is very label oriented and only buys the best.
Obviously she knows what I make and I think would turn her nose at any sim. She recently designed a custom baquette eternity band for their anniversary. It is too die for, but also very expensive.

There have been days when I have worn my Berricle eternities with my ering, I have found myself taking them off when she comes in.

My sister teachs kindergarten at a Catholic school in Des Moines. Her hubby is a er doc, and makes a very nice living. Her ering is a 2ct radiant cut diamond. Her co workers have treated her terribly for having a larger ering. In addition to a nicer vehicle, clothes, etc. Women can be terrible to each other when jealous.

They can be mom2dolls.... just in my own family ... well my Hubbies family there has been somethings that have come out in the open about family jewelry pieces that SHOCKED ME!!! When they treated me so bad over Dreamy... but I guess that's why... since they thought and still do that Dreamy is real and what they had passed off for years WASN'T!!!!!

I have to add that I am totally with KJMM here when I say there are certain people that I tell my diamonds are CZ because they would just give me so much crap about spending money on real diamonds that it is not worth it to me to tell them that its real. One of them is my MIL and some friends.

hmmm, like what others said, you don't want to be prancing around in a 2+ct ring while working with the disadvantaged...they won't be able to relate to you . I, personally, would assume that a 2ct+ ring on a social worker/case worker or that line of work is CZ.....but others that don't understand diamonds pricing etc might just think it's a real diamond (like your clients/patients)

No prancing here! grin

I'm not wearing any left hand rings today, but I do if I have an office say...while the presence of expensive LOOKING jewelry can alienate others, I careful to present as neutral and approachable in my professional life...and bling it up outside of work.
