oh... too bad!!! Hopefully the place will be better.  I don't think you should have to remove them completely. They should be able to just buff them down a bit and reshape them.

yes, you do.
I've had acrylics for years. To me, they are harsh looking compared to gels. I dont like the intense filing involved in acrylics. I would cringe everytime that file would come out! Acrylics dont stay shiny like gels either. I like the fresh polished look to last as long as possible. It became trendy to put a layer of gel over acrylics, that's how I know the gel stays shiny much longer than acrylic. Wanted to add that my sis uses this weird file buffer (by hand not dremel tool) ont he acrylic nails. They shine amazingly well with no polish at all. I have to agree with JCENT (I think that is who said it) stay away, far away from any where that uses that hideous tool! It can cause your natural nail to lift away from the nail bed if used all of the time from constant friction and vibration. She has seen some really bad damage from that thing.
