Kellyfish I don't think Shanin needs to go to pricescope b/c I think you are doing a great job! All lovely choices. Maybe Shanin will eventually see this. I'm not sure what's more important now, the setting or the center stone.
ETA: oops, meant to say, that WF link didn't come up for me

Just something to consider -- I previously spoke to Leon about getting one of his settings made with an asha. When I explained that I hoped to replace the asha with a real diamond at some point, he told me that it would be very difficult to do that with one of his rings because the head/setting are made to the exact specs of the original stone (it could be done, but would be very costly). Considering his estimate for a 1-sided melee ring (style r369 on his website) was between 5K and 6K three months ago, and he only uses platinum which is at all-time high prices and rising, I decided I would look into a more reasonable alternative for a sim ring and replace with a Leon in the future.
I agree with the suggestion to put your money into a simple setting with a real stone now (which would better retain value, especially if there was a good upgrade policy), and upgrade the setting later...
Good luck!

Personally, I would put the budget into the best diamonds I could get and set them into a simple setting, then upgrade the setting later. $6k is a healthy budget for a 3 stone ring and you can get some lovely diamonds right now, as kellyfish has shown (great sleuthing, btw!)

Hi Shanin. Congrats on your engagement, so sorry to hear about your car
I have a ring very similar to what you are searching for. The details are as follows: the ring is set in white gold. The center stone is a natural SI1, I colored 1.11 ct RB and the two side stones are .50, Winfields brand colorless. The stones down the side are natural diamonds. If I were to do it over again, I would get the .50 ct side stones in a CW color. You can get a nice 1.20 ct stone for about $4500 right now.
I also wanted to mention that Leon is expensive. If you are GOING WITH HIM, you will probably spend half of your budget on the setting alone and will be left to spend the rest on the most realistic sim out there, which is the ASHA. Leon can use other metals other than platinum, but platinum and pave are his breadwinners, and to work with any other metal other than platinum will cost you more when working with him. One thing I will note is that he is incredibly nice, quick responses to quotes and then questions, and does amazing, impeccable and beautiful work.
I don't know if you have your heart set on platinum, but you can also save money by getting your setting in white gold.
If I were in your position and had $6K to spend, I would do the following. If you are set on going with a Leon Mege setting, contact him and get permission to duplicate his design with your own jeweler. Then contact a local jeweler that you trust. Your jeweler should be able to create a mold of a LM setting for about $400, and then have it set in white gold. As for stones, do as I did. Find a beautiful I colored natural diamond for the center and then get two .50 ct Asha's for the sides, these will cost you about $200. I do not have pave down the side of my shank. Mine are natural .20 ct diamonds (three on each side) and I can tell you they are running about $18 or less right now. You should be able to stay in your budget and have natural diamonds on your finger.
One more thing is that if you can't find a local jeweler that you trust, please believe that Wink or Steve are excellent and amazing craftsmen and you will NOT be disappointed with anything that they create with their own hands.
Best of luck to you and please let us know what you decide.
-Cher
PS. I can not help you on the stone looking too large on your finger. I have a size 7 finger- I CAN tell you that the 1.11. ct center on me is PERFECT (and it is the original stone that my dh gave to me), but I am going through shrinkage ever since I read an article on Jamie Lyn Spears getting engaged and showing off her "ROCK" to everyone. I think the word "rock" got me salivating and now I myself am torn between two LM rings. GOOD LUCK and welcome to the boards!!
