Oh, the comments begin, and not sounding mean or anything, I'm sure not everyone on pricescope has a "real" diamond.(can I post that? ) Oh surely you don't think that ALL those big honking "diamonds" on PS could be fake? Nah, noone would ever pretend they had a real diamond when they were really wearing a simulant? LOL! I think they are real, but I've often suspected that at least some of those big ones are planted by the vendors or relatives of vendors. Subtle advertising for larger diamonds. Business is pretty slow now, compared to what it was back in 2004-2006. Remember how often new rings were posted there, and here for that matter? PS does not like anyone who is not a sales tool. If you are not helping sell a diamond, or assisting somebody who is buying a "new" diamond, or formulating a proposal, or planning an expensive wedding, they don't want you. They banned me,too. But I can read them from cached copies or the school's or libraries' computers. I don't think I'm missing anything. It's really slo-o-o-o-o-w over there compared to the glory days of 2003-2007 or so. Back then, PS was new, it found the pent up demand and offered those people bang for the buck, money was freely spent, everyone was upgrading, the diamond halo style took off, and the forums were not stifled like they are now. Lots of the "veterans" have simply left, it appears. Or else maybe they were silenced. LOL!
I thought this was very interesting. I was only on PS for a little over a year (most of that time lurking) so I missed the "glory days." But you're right -- there's not a lot of turnover on the SMTR page. Times are tough for jewelry buying, that's for sure.

LOL, Wink! Looks like a lot of people take your advice -- you've got quite a fan club here and at PS. Must be because you're one of the "good guys."
I'm still unsure about what to do about PS. I wish they would have contacted me personally to discuss whatever the problem is -- especially now that I have a little more information about what the "problem" might be.
A week or two ago, I showed my husband a post about a proposal on PS that seemed weird. My husband thought it was weird, too. He wanted to use my PS account to make some sort of reply. I said not on my account you don't. Well, it seems that DH showed that post to a number of other people -- all of whom thought the post was weird, too. So DH set up an account and replied to the thread and set off some sort of firestorm on PS. I couldn't read any of the supposed firestorm because our IP address was banned from PS. I haven't yet tried to access my own screen name from another IP address, so I don't know if my own account is even working.
Again, I'm just guessing about all of this because the timing of DH's posts and our IP address being cut off fits. No one at PS ever contacted me, even though they have an e-mail address for me. And they had a valid e-mail address for the account DH set up.
So, yes, I'm upset that the IP address for our whole house has been banned, even though it appears that none of my posts were the problem. Thanks, Wink, for the suggestion to contact Andrey. But at this point, I'm still pretty upset about the whole thing and, to be honest, I can get my diamond fix here, plus talk about "forbidden" topics. Also, the vendors here seem to have more freedom to talk about what they do and what they sell -- that's very different from PS.
Thanks again, everybody, for your support.
