I've heard of it and seen it. I don't need to use it because I'm not one with small fingers but they're not that uncommon. Maybe someone with experience with them can respond...

...sorry.

I have a spring insert in one of my rings and it's fabulous. I can adjust the 'spring' tighter or loosen depending on the season or time o' the month!

With the spring, my ring can be a 8, 8.5, 8.75 or a 9 (the ring was a 9.25 originally). It is very comfortable.

My jeweler called it a "butterfly".

I have seen those before. I have never worn one though. some people call them "horseshoes".

Diva, how wide is the shank on the ring that has the spring?

The shank of the ring is 4mm, euro style. Sorry I don't have a pic. I purchased the ring on the Internet and only a size 9 was available. When I got the ring it was closer to a 9.25 and too big.

When I took it to get sized, the jeweler advised me not to size it (3 rows of channel set stones, middle row cornflower blue sapphires, outer rows natural diamonds).

Anyhoo, the spring is comfortable, adjustable and it cannot be seen when worn.

thanks for the info! your ring sounds gorgeous!!!
I thought about getting one for my setting when i have it made, but my shank is going to be very thin, and i have heard you cant use the spring on really thin shanks.
