I just re-found and cleaned my 25 yr old school ring and I noticed that it marked PLATRIUM (c) with a copyright symbol inside the shank.

Anyone know what Platrium is??? The white part is grey like platinum but high polish. The under areas are an antiquey black. Hmm? Never heard of Platrium before.

And I don't recall what the center stone is. It's very pretty and looks like an excellent sapphire. It's not cloudy so I don't think it's cz, but I really don't know. Could be glass maybe? I wish I could remember! LOL

Rhonda this is what I found about Platrium it is a fine jewelers metal similiar in appearance to Stainless Steel it is a a Nickel and Silver Alloy. A very inexpensive material used to make class rings, Military insignia's buckles, rings etc.

Wow Spy, thanks! Where did ya find that? I'm guessing a google search? LOL I should have tried that! I'm just surprised at how new it still looks. I find that any kind of sterling turns my skin that green color. I think I might wear this around a bit and see what happens. Maybe the alloy mix this is made from won't cause that same reaction.
