gemstones. This is because their
creation in the earth requires the combining
of two minerals not usually found together,
plus the absence of a third common
one....thus, natural top quality alexandrite
is hard to find, and expensive when you do
come across one.
Alexandrite
has been highly prized both due to its rarity
but just as equally for its beauty - it
features a unique color change phenomenon
whereby it shows a bluish-green in daylight,
and a purple-red in artificial
light.
Thus, we are
pleased to offer a limited selection of fine,
lab-grown alexandrite at a mere
$89/ct. These are grown in the lab
via a floating pull method, and feature large
sizes with the requisite stunning color change
feature.
Our cultured
(lab-grown) alexandrites are unique in
several respects:
- These are
*real* alexandrite, not imitation...they are
simply grown in the lab instead of mined.
- Unlike
naturals, which have widely varying color
and clarity, we offer only gem quality
(loupe-clean) cultured alexandrite with intense
coloration.
The result is
that our Cultured Alexandrite let you
enjoy the beauty and splendor of real
alexandrite in sizes, clarity and color saturation that
would otherwise be unaffordable.
We are
offering our Cultured Alexandrite at
$89/ct until June 30th, 2008 with a
custom cutting option. We
will cut the desired stones based upon special
orders placed by June 30th.
