Our Avarra pure Lemon Yellow lab sapphires, cut in concave round, and with outstanding polish.
Unfortunately, we have not been able to properly capture the color of these beautiful sapphires on camera...the photos thus show the faceting but absolutely not the color.
They are a light, bright and striking yellow in person and the concave cuts provide outstanding scintillation. These are some of our nicest sapphires and we will continue to work on capturing their 'in person' beauty on film.
Concave cutting is performed by scooping out the facets on the underside, rather than cutting them flat as in a normal cutting process.
The result is a significant increase in light play inside the stone, with the resulting stunning visuals that only concave cutting can deliver.
Natural sapphires, when cut to concave specifications, can run literally thousands of dollars per carat.
By contrast, we are offering our lab grown Avarra sapphires in concave cut for initial pricing of $89/ct.

I looked everywhere for real-life photos of the yellow sapphire before ordering one...without success. Well of course I ordered one anyway, set in a simple 14kwg setting to expose as much of it to the light as possible.
A couple of these pictures almost capture the happy glowing yellow color. It really is very pretty and unique.
For size comparison, it's a 8mm round ring size 5.5.

I've never had a significant sized sapphire before. I'm still getting used to the fact that I can actually see thru it at certain angles.
It's a real ray of happy sunshine in a dreary winter though!
